The President of Bakioğlu Holding, Cem Bakioğlu was born in Izmir in 1945. He studied at the Izmir Financial and Commercial Sciences Academy. In 1973, he founded Bak Packaging Industry and Trade Co.
Cem Bakioğlu is the owner of a series of companies working under Bakioğlu Holding which focus on the packaging business as well as construction, insurance, IT and logistics. In 2017, the holding opened up to the food industry by completing investments for the first freeze-dry Fruit and Vegetable processing plant in Turkey. The majority of the holding’s facilities are concentrated in the Izmir Ataturk Organised Industrial Zone.
Bakioğlu was formerly in the media sector with Ege TV and Radio Ege but he seceded from the sector and donated all the equipment to the Faculty of Communications at Ege University.
In 1995, he oversaw the planting of 70,000 trees in the Bakioğlu Forest which is close to Izmir’s Adnan Menderes Airport. As a fervent environmentalist and nature enthusiast, Cem Bakioğlu founded the Aegean Forest Foundation the same year and donated funds for the planting of nearly 10 million trees, directly contributing to the forestation of the Aegean Region and the environmental future of the country. He is also involved in charitable initiatives with a focus on education and permanent projects.
In 1995, he opened the Cem Bakioğlu Anatolian High School that has 34 classrooms.
He founded Çiğli Kent Hospital in 2002 and spearheaded the opening of Kent Alsancak Medical Centre in 2008 and Kent Bayraklı Medical Centre in 2018.
He is a member of TUSIAD (Industrialists and Businesspersons Association of Turkey) and ESIAD (Industrialists and Businesspersons Association of the Aegean Region). He has assumed executive positions in Kipa, Asad and Güçbirliği.
Cem Bakioğlu is the CEO of Enda Energy Holding Co. and Egenda Ege Energy Production Co.
He is married and a father of two. Cem Bakioğlu can speak English and French.
